Robert Allen Palmer (19 de enero de 1949 – 26 de septiembre de 2003), nacido en Batley, Yorkshire, fue un cantante inglés. Era conocido por su presentación en ropa formal y elegante, su emotiva voz y la mezcla equilibrada de estilos musicales en sus albums, combinando soul, jazz, rock and roll, reggae, blues, e incluso canto tirolés. Su primer álbum Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley grabado en Nueva Orleans en 1974,despues de 3 discos lanzados al mercado llega En 1978 Double Fun, una colección de rock caribeño influenciado, incluyendo una versión sincopada de "You Really Got Me". El álbum alcanzó el Top 50 en la revista estadounidense Billboard magazine y llegó al Top 20 de los singles con "Every Kinda People" de Andy Fraser.
